What We Believe

  • GOD.

God is eternal and three in one. God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men.

  • THE BIBLE.

The Holy Bible God’s Word and revelation of Himself to the world. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It is fully authoritative and without error. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

  • THE CHURCH.

The Bible teaches that the church is the body of Christ in the world today; observing the two ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, exercising the gifts, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. A local church is made up of baptized followers of Jesus. The church should live out the mission of Christ as His body.

  • JESUS.

Jesus Christ is God’s Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect and sinless life, died on a cross, and after three days, He defeated sin and death and rose from the grave. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God. He will return one day to rule and reign. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord.

  • THE HOLY SPIRIT.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He works in the world to make all people understand their need for Jesus Christ, and He indwells every believer from the time of salvation. He cultivates conviction of sins, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption.

  • THE KINGDOM.

According to the Biblical teachings, God is actively constructing His Kingdom, which is currently “at hand”. By adopting a Kingdom mindset, we are not only able to prioritize God's work within our local church but we also understand that His divine purposes transcend our specific church. Understanding the scope of God's Kingdom prompts us to take an active role in advancing His work both locally and globally.

  • SALVATION.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

  • BAPTISM.

Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water and it is a picture of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. We baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. It represents the burial of the old life and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to the final resurrection of the dead.

  • COMMUNION.

The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience for followers of Jesus through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorializing the death of the Redeemer and anticipation of His second coming. Communion is to be taken in a worthy manner and together with the body of Christ. In partaking of communion, the church is honoring God, exhibiting unity, and proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel.
